Hi! You have reached the webmaster's information corner. I'm Elio, a 20 year old artist and archival student who's landed here on Neocities to create a personal haven where I can showcase all my art, talk about the things I love the most and document my html and css learing process.

about the site

I started working on this site around the first days of October 2023 and I further enriched and developed the project for a month straight, adding new pages and tracking ideas for what I wanted to do with it. A bit before I started learning html seriously, I created some concept art for an eventual mascot or site character I'd want to put here and there on my site. After all, I can't let myself be known for just being the cursed rukawa plush guy. Thus, Nerucom the robot was born! You can see her initial designs in the art gallery, if you'd like. This site's aesthetic is changing continuously and I really want to try and make lots of pages that look very distinct. I'm having a thing for gray themes lately, though... This new about me page is loosely inspired by Mizzurna Falls, a game I hope to play soon, whose amazing visuals and landscapes fill me with a nostalgia I'll have to uncover asap.

who's kaede rukawa?

So who's that eepy-looking, dumb emo-bangs-having, 90s anime pretty guy you see everywhere on my site where nerucom isn't? That's Kaede Rukawa, my favorite character from the 1990 hit manga Slam Dunk! I won't talk about why I love him or the series so much here, but he's become somewhat integral to this site's aesthetic so he at least deserves a paragraph or two. (but, if you DO want to read more on how I feel about him you should head to Kaede Purple, my Rukawa shrine!)

This specific cursed Rukawa doll, which is EXTREMELY ELUSIVE and INCREDIBLY HARD to get, is actually official merch from when the anime was airing, I believe. I've gotten pretty attached to it, he's become a whole inside joke with my friends and now site character as a way to cope with the fact that I'll never have one... It's SUPER popular in the Korean Slam Dunk fandom and it's the reason why even seeing one up for sale on jp mercari and it not being already sold is a rarer witness than seeing a shooting star. to me at least. he's as pretty as a shooting star.

god his hair is so matted... I just wish I could wash it and comb it...

I'm realizing I kept using a mix of "him" and "it" when referring to ruca plush in this paragraph... does ruca plush canonically have he/it pronouns in the elioverse???
